Thursday 1st October - Welcome and EGM
7.00pm The Conference Suite, University Staff Club. Our first meeting as a society for the year - a chance for us to introduce the parliamentary candidates, to welcome you to the society and to elect four new members of the committee.
Monday 5th - Thursday 8th October - Conservative Party Conference, Manchester
A group of us from NUCA will be heading to Manchester for this year’ Party Conference. Be sure to check out our YouTube channel to see what we get up to!
Saturday 17th October - Big Delivery, Nottingham South
Meeting outside the Portland Building, University Park, at 10am, NUCA will be out spreading the Conservative message to Nottingham South constituents at our first big delivery event of the year. Will involve some leafleting in the morning, a pub lunch, and some more leafleting in the afternoon. To get involved contact James Spencer (Vice President & Campaigns), or just be outside the Portland building at 10am on Saturday.
Wednesday 21st October - Canvassing Training + Canvassing, Nottingham South
For those of you that have never canvassed before (and for those of you that have!) well be having a canvassing training session starting at 2pm, followed by the chance to put these newly acquired skills into practice. James Spencer will be in touch with regards to the location (or you can contact him).
Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th October - YBF6 Activist Training Conference, Wellington College, Berkshire
NUCA will again be taking a large delegation to YBF6 this year, an event strongly recommended to members. Booking for the event and arranging transport needs to be done oneself, however Amy Hennessy (Treasurer) is coordinating our group so make sure to let her know of your arrangements so she can coordinate our group.
Saturday 24th October - Medsin Question Time Debate
As part of Medsin’s National Conference weekend, they are hosting a Question Time style event with Dr Rowena Holland from the Conservatives, Cllr Tony Suton from the Liberal Democrates and Ms Lilian Greenwood from Labour in attendance. Time and venue is yet to be confirmed, but I would strongly encourage as many of you to attend this event as possible.

Wednesday 4th November - YBF Television Interviews Media Training
As part of our desire to see NUCA members properly trained in the skills needed to be an effective Conservative activist, YBF are hosting an afternoon of interview practice where you’ll be able to hone your skills in front of the camera. I would particularly recommend this event to anyone that fancies getting involved with our own Nottingham CF YouTube channel, or even the university’s NUTS TV. Price is £10 pp and limited to a maximum of 12 places. To apply please contact Amy Hennessy (Treasurer) who is coordinating the signup for the event.
Friday 6th November - CF Student Life Tours
Members from the national CF organisation, as well as NUCA’s very own Vice-President, will be taking part in a Q&A session to do with all things CF and Conservative. 7pm C11, Portland Building.
Sunday 8th November - Remembrance Sunday
NUCA will be attending the University’s Offical Remembrance Sunday service, followed by lunch as a society. Please arrive by 10.20am at the Trent Building.
Sunday 8th November - Pizza, Port and Policy
NUCA is launching its Pizza, Port and Policy night! Starts 7.45pm, upstairs in the Bag of Nails, Lenton. Entry £5.
Friday 13th November - Rushcliffe Conservatives Dinner
The annual dinner of Ken Clarke’s Conservative Association is being held on our campus at the East Midlands Conference Centre, with guest speaker William Hague! Tickets are usually £48 however we are very fortunate to be able to offer them to NUCA members for £35. To book your place, please contact Amy Hennessy (Treasurer) who is coordinating our booking.

NUCA will be spending the day in Belfast. We’ll spend time touring the city, learning about it’s recent past, visiting Stormont (Northern Irish Assembly) and also meeting up with some of the local party / Conservative Future. Friday 19th February - John Major Dinner
Former Prime Minister Sir John Major KG CH will be Guest of Honour at a City of Nottingham Conservative Federation Dinner at East Midlands Conference Centre. Tickets are £40 for NUCA members (£50 otherwise) and include a sparkling wine reception, three course dinner and coffee.
Saturday 27th February - NUCA General Election Campaign Launch Curry Night
We will be launching our election campaign with a society-wide dinner at Chutney where we will outline our plans and hopefully get you all fired up to make your contributions. So whether you are regularly involved in NUCA, have previously been involved with NUCA or are a casual Conservative supporter, come along, have a great night with us and find out how you can help. This is your one chance to get involved and rid this country of a defunct Labour government and to stand for the values in which YOU believe. We will be in Chutney for 5:30pm.

Ever wondered who would win in a shoot-out, Tories or Labour? Now you’ll have your answer! Whether you’re out for revenge on the opposition, or just fancy taking shots at other people, prepare for an awesome action-packed day. This event is open to all - you don’t have to be a member of Nottingham Labour Students or NUCA to attend.
