About Us

Nottingham University Conservative Association has gone from strength to strength in the past few years. With around 150 members, we are an important part of the Conservative apparatus, not only in the City of Nottingham, but into the East Midlands.

Holding regular speaker events, a variety of socials and activities throughout the academic terms, the Association is the most successful and most popular political party on campus, far outweighing the successes and fortunes of the other main political movements within the University, including the Student Labour and Liberal Democrat Youth.

Campaigns are also an integral part of the Association, with recruitment drives, Social Action projects, regular leafleting of marginal constituencies and campaign weeks all fixtures in the Association’s calendar.

The committee holds meeting regularly to discuss the issues affecting the Association, its members and to the University as a whole. Elections to the committee are usually held in the April of each year, in the AGM, to decide who will take the Presidency, amongst other positions. Currently, the President is Will Bickford Smith.

Nottingham University Conservative Association is excited about the prospects David Cameron and the modern, compassionate Conservative Party are going to bring to this country when they are elected to power.
